Wasaga Beach Eagles

by Suzanne Watson
(Wasaga Beach, Ontario, Canada)

I live on Bower's Beach, west of Wasaga Beach. Just 20 minutes ago (11:00 am November 2, 2013) I saw what looked like a huge nest at the top of a tall tree.

As I got nearer, it unfolded and flew off. Sea gulls started flying at it and then two more of these large birds joined the first.

Two weeks ago my neighbours and I saw an Eagle sitting on a rock off our shore fishing for hours - I looked it up and it appeared to be a juvenile Bald Eagle.

Today it looked like three Bald Eagles flying together.

What wing spans! How exciting!

Way to go, Suzanne!
Eagles are so very exciting to see and it's wonderful to share that joy. We have not seen the "graveyard" Bald Eagles in Florida for the past few days but it is as much fun looking for them here as it is for you in Wasaga. Keep watching. There could be more in the spring if they are nesting there. Keep us posted.
