One of my dogs started barking in our bedroom this morning at about 6:30 am and the other dog jumped off our bed and ran to the corner of the room to join him.

I turned on the light and was shocked to see a young Opossum on the dog bed looking very scared so I called off the dogs and sent them out of the bedroom.

I picked it up in a towel while it was "playing possum" and released it at the end of our garden where it scampered off as soon as I put it down.

We have absolutely no idea how it got into the house and upstairs.

That must have been quite a shock, although, I must say, it is the funniest thing I have heard all day!
