Stoney Creek Possum

Sadly, our outdoor friend met his demise this past weekend.

We moved into our current home several years ago and realized we had a Possum living (at least some of the time) under our shed in the backyard.

It was a very timid creature that never caused any issues. We'd see it frequently around our property at night or at a nearby neighbour's home.

A neighbour came to our door this weekend to notify us there was a dead raccoon beside our shed.

It made me realize how rare the animal was and that we were lucky enough to have seen it up close.

Ugly yes, nuisance, no. I hope other families get to appreciate up close them as we have.

I'm sorry to hear about your little critter-friend. It sounds like under your shed was a good place to live, so maybe you'll get another little fella moving in this fall.
