Snowy Owl Close Encounter

In mid-March I was driving up to my cottage late at night.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw a massive shape flying over my van towards my headlights. All of a sudden the shape appeared, a massive white bird right in front of my windshield. I tried to brake but heard a massive hit off my roof.

My son who was following behind in another car, called me to tell me he saw the white bird land and get on its feet. He claimed it was a big white owl.

I never forgot about it and felt awful.

Today I was driving to the cottage when I saw a massive white bird sitting on a fence.

I pulled over and there she was, a massive snowy owl! Not sure if it was the same one, but I got out my car and apologized to her.

So majestic, she took off and soared away from me.
