Sighting of Wolves in Milton (Feb 20, 2013)

by Aamir Khan
(Milton, Ontario, Canada)

I saw a pair of grey Wolves tonight while I was driving on Trafalgar Road towards Derry Road. The pair was crossing the road and walking towards dense woods towards West.

I have seen Wolves and Coyotes before and I am sure this was a pair of Grey Wolves.

Date of sighting is February 20, 2013 at around 11:30 pm and the location is the area between Derry and Britannia at Trafalgar Road.

This place is around 2 km away from town population.

The location has some farms and dense woods from between Trafalgar Road and Sixth Line where the wolves were heading.

You saw dogs

Wolves never, ever carry their tails "curled up and over". You saw big wolflike dogs - not wolves.

Third Sighting
by: Anonymous

While traveling south on eighth line between 10th and 15th side road (Dec 2nd 2013), I saw what I believed was a Grey Wolf run west, across the road, from one section of bush to another. While the encounter was brief, it was too large to be a Coyote, the colour was wrong, and it was not exhibiting typical domesticated dog behaviour. Upon seeing other reports here I am confident that it was indeed a Wolf.

I wish nothing but good luck to this beautiful creature. :)

Second sighting

I can't be sure of the exact date, but it would have been around the same time...driving home on Sixth Line, at 15 Side Road, I saw a pair of Wolves cross the road in front of the car ahead of me. This would have been around 10:30 or 11:00 at night, and I knew they were Wolves because they were much bigger than Coyotes, and they were trotting along with their tails up and curled over. They stopped briefly and looked at the car that stopped to let them pass, and then continued on into the forest. This is near the quarry on Sixth Line. I haven't seen them since, nor have I heard any Wolf howling in the area, only the nightly packs of yipping Coyotes.
