David wrote to report ... I sighted a full grown adult Opossum on my porch. It was eating dry cat food I put out for a couple feral cats I cannot catch. Seems to get along fine with them. Today they were sitting on the top step checking out the neighbourhood. I'm located 15 kilometers west of Peterborough, Ontario.
AB from London said ... we just spotted a small Possum in our yard this evening. First time ever seeing one!
Norma from Midland, Ontario wrote ... December 10, 2022: Just outside in the backyard having a midnight smoke and heard a rustle of leaves. I was surprised to see it was a Possum heading past my stoop. I stupidly said “Hey buddy” which scared him and he scampered away. Wish I got a picture of him, as is the first I have seen around here.
A Nicassio from Troy wrote ... Way up on a second storey deck. We turned on the light and came out, it was several seconds later that I saw it plopping down the large staircase out into the night. November 29, 2022.
Ada from Hamilton wrote to say ... I just spotted one in my backyard last night, it didn't seem scared and it was not acting afraid. Should be interesting as we also have a regular raccoon visiting.
Peter wrote ... I live in Collingwood, Ontario and I have seen a Possum in my backyard twice this year. Maybe the same one , in May and in October. It is a rat tail one and it came to my back porch where there is some bird food. I just watch the animal through my glass sliding door. Very close actually and after sniffing for a while it walks off into the dark.
