A short distance between Sarnia and London, Petrolia (known for its oil beginnings)...this is the place if want to shop, eat and see live theatre.


The Family Discount Store on the main street has been my gift-giving and home decor life-saving store for a good number of years now.

Every Tuesday morning a new shipment of well priced articles arrive. I have purchased everything from toilet paper to Vera Wang place servings.

As well I've purchased a beautiful one-of-a kind $1000 leather coat for $200. Every place I look in my house I can find their treasures - in my en suite there are containers for shampoo - stainless steel for $5.00. Right now in my drawer is a Whitney Houston c.d. and a beautiful leather wallet. Gifts to be given. They also have the greatest Hardware store with gifts and a Pickers store offered retro re-purposed goods.

I WILL SAY THIS Nate Berkus would love this place and so has anyone I have taken there for a day trip. One time we bought a bed and the next to nothing coconut water - you never know what great things await you.

Also with the theatre being on the main street too there are eateries and other unique shops that cater to the influx of theatre goers. I like Connie's - and Actors!

And when I've a hankering for the water, its just a short drive to Sarnia and watch the tankers go up the waterway while I do a Sunrise Toast on the deck of the Blue Water Casino's outside restaurant. You don't have to gamble to enjoy their boardwalk/sea side eatery.

I CAN ASSURE YOU WILL GET LUCKY - JACKPOTS OF BARGAINS!

I'm bias and I have reason to be. Petrolia is a marvelous town with all kinds of wonderful amenities including live professional theatre; a full service hospital; a spacious community centre with pool and therapeutic pool; lots and lots of parks; shopping and restaurants; ice arena; top notch schools and the list goes on. However, the best about Petrolia are the people that live here. It's a friendly community! Jump in your car and take a look! "You will be surprised" and that's our slogan. Besides it's the Greatest Town on Earth. Hope to see you soon!
