Spotted on Shouldice Side Road between Glen Morris and Kitchener, Ontario. Very tame.

I’m almost certain this was a peahen. I was sitting on front porch reading and when I got up to go in the house there was a peacock/hen sitting almost beside me. Then it went to our front door looking up at it for a few seconds. Finally walked down the steps and walked into the back yard. Stood outside our basement patio door for a while.

There were some other contributions on this forum over the past little while about them being spread across Southern Ontario, perhaps from a zoo or private collection and escaped and were able to carve out a place in the ecosystem. Thanks for the post ... I will have to do a little more reading on this species.
