Owl in backyard

My house backs onto one of the many greenspace corridors in the Oshawa/Courtice town line areas.

Dogs were barking in backyard so I went out to stop the barking and/or see what animal has got them going nutty this time.

And I heard/felt a loud whooshing/thumping like noise of a large bird taking flight from the top of my fence about 8-10feet from my face.

Naturally didn't have chance to take a picture then, but did snap one of the owl in the tree it flew up to.
