Owen Sound, Port Colourne and Conestogo Bald Eagles
by Three of our readers
(Owen Sound, Port Colbourne and Conestogo, Ontario)
This past week we received three reports of Bald Eagle sightings in Southern Ontario, and here they are for your enjoyment!
A reader from Owen Sound tells us ...... As I was travelling eastbound on Hwy 21 near Jackson today, January 11, 201,2 I saw a Bald Eagle sitting in a tree close to the highway. Fantastic!
Another of our readers from Port Colbourne recently observed Bald Eagle, and says ..... I sighted, on January 4 2012, 8:30 am, a lone Bald Eagle was spotted near the berm of one our open water treatment lagoons. The absence of ducks, geese and even seagulls indicated a predator on-site. I was amazed at the beauty and size of this magnificent bird!
Julie from the Waterloo area tells us ...... I spotted a Bald Eagle this morning, January 13th 2012, in a tree overlooking the Conestogo River. It was near the bridge north of Waterloo on Hwy 85.
Thank you all so much for telling us about your Bald Eagle sightings - I too spotted a Bald Eagle in London, Ontario, flying close to the banks of the Thames River, close to Wonderland Road, London.
