Osprey in Flight

My two children, aged 13 and 7, asked me to find the name of a large bird they saw while at the local park. The biggest identifying mark they remembered is that the bird was carrying something that looked like a fish and the tail was fanned with black & white dots.

Not sure if it was an Osprey but the video on this website resembled the bird.

Thank you for sending this report of your childrens' sighting to us. I found this picture that shows the tail markings of the Osprey.

Osprey sighting in Oakville

We were having a barbecue in our backyard. We live in River Oaks and we saw an Osprey on our neighbor's fence eating some kind of an animal. Not sure what it was that it was eating but it sat on the fence until it finished every little piece of whatever it was eating. From the pictures on your web site, we know for sure it was an Osprey.

Osprey pair on the Sixteen Mile Creeg
by: Aki Tanaka

We were taking a boat ride up the Sixteen Mile Creek and we thought we saw an Osprey pair land in a tree, right around the Canoe Club.
