Orillia

by Mrs. Cooke
(Orillia, Ontario, Canada)

I live in Bass Lake just 5 minutes from Orillia, Ontario. Our backyard backs onto bush.

The Coyote are a regular sight as my husband and I walk our dogs through the bush. There is an open field at the top of the ravine and on at least two occasions we have stumbled on them while they appear to nap in the field. As soon as they hear us they run away.

My husband heard a dog barking and a lady screaming the other day. It seems she likely came across them as well. I don't think her dog was harmed, but our neighbour down the road has lost two cats this year.

We hear them at dusk howling.

We hear the every night

We live in Prices Corners. For the last couple of months we have been hearing coyotes howl every night, sometimes from 3 different directions, like we were being surrounded. I have given up my walks down the 13th concession to Warminster because of this.

Wolves / Coyotes
by: Jane Gateman

I live at Bass Lake too. I walk/ski on the trail every day, and am becoming concerned about the Wolves / Coyotes in this area. I have seen them, heard them. They don't bother me; however, would it be wise of me to stay off this trail? Do you have any suggestions?

Walk with another person, make noise as you walk so you don't surprise the Coyotes, don't walk at dawn and dusk.
