Not surprised

I've been seeing Swans at the quarry in Port Colborne all winter. They usually fly higher than the Geese and have a fainter 'honk' to them.
When I see 100 Geese for example, I'll see about 20 Swans. At times I've seen at least 500 Geese and a couple hundred swans.
It's been such a mild winter that the water in the quarry hasn't frozen over much and it's sheltered so they must just love that spot.
The Rankin quarry is on the east side of Port and the birds fly in just before dusk.
They come in from the east.
