Angela, one of our readers, sent us this report of her sighting of a mystery bird - My family and I were camping at Killbear Provincial Park this summer and spotted this cute bird, but are having a hard time identifying it.

If someone knows what type of bird this is please let us know .....

Thanks for your report and picture, Angela, it looks like some kind of Raptor (Bird of Prey), but I can't tell what it is - perhaps one of our readers will be able to identify this bird for you.

Its a Broad-winged Hawk.

I've seen this bird before at Killbear, too! After much deliberation with staff, we determined it to be a Ruffed Grouse! =)
