While getting the BBQ ready on March 10th at 6:00 pm, a male Merlin landed on my neighbour's roof, spun and flew not 5 feet over my head!
It was approximately 14" high with a wingspan of 24 0 26" and his chest was almost robin red, lots of snow white around it's talons and a glask strip e on it's head by it's eye.
I am 56 years old, always had a keen interest in Raptors.
This is my one and only sighting.
Location: Just east of Hamilton Road and Adelaide Street in London, Ontario.
Last fall - had a Red Tail catch a Dove and proceed to eat it while stitting on a telephone pole in front of my house.
Also - March 11th 2014, three Bald Eagles flew over Lobo - 2 were mature birds, one yearling.
