Paige from Brantford wrote ... I heard a Cooper's Hawk loudly calling from my oak tree to a juvenile in the neighbor's maple tree. Watched them for about 5 minutes. I don't have a picture.
Another one of our readers wrote ... Last Thursday August 28th about 2pm I saw a very large bird flying over the trees on the South side of the creek that runs through Edwards Gardens. Earlier a man had shown me a picture he had taken on his phone of what looked like a Coopers hawk. He said it was in a tree but the mother was much larger. As I walked up the hill to try and see it , I saw the underside of a very large bird flying over the trees away from me. I would like to know if anyone else reported seeing it or what it may have been. It was large enough to be an eagle.
Thanks for writing to us - I found and added this picture of a Cooper's Hawk
