Yes, I do have a great story. Early last spring of 2012, I was in my yard near the hydro field off of Whitney Ave West, in West End of Hamilton.
This area is not far from the nesting site of the pair of Bald Eagles that have been nesting here since 2009.
When I heard that bone chilling screech that Bald Eagles make and looked up and here was a sparrow diving at this majestic raptor. The Eagle was on the hunt. The little sparrow was protecting his nest. How cool.
The air attack went on for 2 or 3 minutes. The eagle gave up and landed on the hydro tower.
He rested for 10 minutes or so, then lifted off in defeat.
This was an experience I will never forget.
How wonderful to see that close-up - thank you for sharing your story with us!
