Georgetown Baltimore Oriole

Here are a few recent shots I took of some Baltimore Orioles at the feeder.

The lovely song of the Baltimore Oriole, echoing from treetops near homes and parks, is a sound of late spring and early summer in Southern Ontario.

The male has brilliant orange plumage and you might spot the female weaving her remarkable hanging nest from nearby trees.

These birds love fruit, especially halves of oranges, and nectar from an Oriole or Hummingbird feeder, as well as insects.

Thank you for sending us your beautiful pictures, they are gorgeous!

I will also post this on our facebook page.

Baltimore Oriole
by: Maureen

We have had a Baltimore Oriole in our neighbourhood in Brampton as well for the past couple of weeks. He has been in my yard numerous times, first in my pear tree and now in my little apple tree. I have taken a couple of videos of him so everyone can enjoy his lovely call.
