Finding a home or looking for food?

My dad was going out to smoke a cigarette and all of a sudden we see something moving in our backyard.

We noticed that it was Possum the moment we saw his cute little face.

I live in Oshawa, Ontario, and Lake Ontario is my backyard, if you walk for 5 minutes.

We were certain that he was looking for food, we did not notice any babies or missing parts of the body, we weren't sure what type of food to give him so we didn't give him any, but he did walk slowly towards our garbage cans and our grass, slowly hopefully eating it.

Once my Dad came back inside we did not notice him come back into our backyard.
