Falcons living on George Street condo in Brampton?

Is this a Falcon?

Is this a Falcon?

I have been watching raptors nesting over the east facing penthouse at 9 George St Brampton ... can anyone confirm if they are Falcons?

I have tried several times to get a good picture but they either look like blobs when it is perching or blue sky when flying because I always miss the shot.

Dark back, white underside, and little black cap ... definitely brings home big meaty things to eat in its talons.

I love watching it and hope I get to see babies leaving the nest!!!

Well, I'm no expert, but it looks like a Peregrine Falcon to me, the black cap was the give-away - they always look to me as if they are wearing a helmet!

I will also post this on our facebook page.

Can Confirm
by: Nick

I can confirm that they are Peregrine Falcons. The female is named Falco, and the male is named Typhoon. You can check the Canadian Peregrine Foundation's website for more details! Falco is a sweetheart, and Typhoon is a bit of a whiner, but both are truly beautiful creatures!

We live in Peel village and I'm positive I saw one flying over our yard last night getting a good look at our wee dog. The squirrel population has recently decreased as well. I had heard there was a nest on your condo. Do I Google to confirm that they do exist and found your comment. Very interesting.

We have them nesting in London downtown as well. It is very common for them to nest on the sides of tall buildings.
