Northern Flicker

I see Northern Flickers in my Ancaster yard each year.

In recent weeks, I have seen only one at a time and for the past week, it has been drumming on the gutters on my rooftop & my neighbor’s rooftop.

It faces the ravine behind the houses while drumming. Looking for a mate.

This morning I first heard the drumming at 6:34. A day or 2 ago, I first heard it at 6:45.

The drumming occurs several time each day.
