Coyotes in Whitby

I live in Whitby, Ontario. I am in the subdivision at Rossland Road W and Cochrane Street.


I have seen the Coyotes from time to time over the years.

First encounter was 15 years ago when one was face to face with my golden retriever in our then unfenced backyard.

It is now VERY common to hear them howl in the early evening.

It is quite an eerie sound. It drives the neighbourhood dogs crazy. So it ends up eerie howling with crazy mad barking, and it happens pretty much every night.

So if anyone wants to spot one I would recommend you look around the Rossland Road and Cochrane Street area in the early evening!

Next time I'm in Whitby, I'll go there and listen for the howling and crazy mad barking!

I love the sound of them howling, its so wild and makes me feel close to nature. Though I will say that I no longer let my cat out on its own. ;)
