Coyotes in South Scarborough

We are in South Scarborough, just North of Kingston Road and we currently have what sounds to be a pack of Coyotes in our back yard.

Our yard backs onto a forest and small ravine that is about .6 of a kilometer long.

I know that there are at least 3 of them as I've heard them yipping from 3 different locations in the yard to one another, but we haven't seen them .....yet.

We have 2 dogs and a cat, so we're hoping that there is never an encounter!

It seems though that Ontario legislation only allows their destruction and not relocation if they've made the forest their home.

Hopefully they are just passing through.

We've only been aware of them for about 4 days, but it's been quite the sound show when they get going.

4 coyotes
by: Anonymous

4 coyotes are sighted two days back to back, walking with pets and both in the dog leash as well as on the trail too. When it's pack it's bit scary.

Coyotes in Warden Woods

My house backs onto the Warden Woods Ravine and you can hear them at night. It’s sad to hear that a few cats and dogs have gone missing lately based on the posters in the neighbourhood. Keep your pets indoors at night if possible.

Heard a pack of Coyotes yipping and yelping tonight in Warden Woods.

Pretty cool, especially since there's a big moon in the sky tonight !

More on Coyotes

The mild weather is keeping Coyotes' food sources in abundance ..... Raccoons, Skunks, mice, etc., are still out and about.

I still think it was really neat to hear the carry-on last night.
