I have a large variety of birds that feed in my backyard, in the past week I have what I believe is a Coopers Hawk.
I saw it Monday morning eating whatever it caught sitting on a log in my backyard. It remained for about 20 minutes eating its catch (a robin) and I had no birds in my yard the rest of the day.
It did come back about an hour later to the same spot looking for the carcass I had cleaned up.
I assume from the long striped tail, smooth greyish striped chest and long smooth yellow legs that it was a Cooper.
If anyone has a different idea of what type this is please comment.
