This is a bird of prey for sure ... the proof is in its claws.
I was in my backyard last evening (Monday, August 14, 2017) and heard these repeated loud cries from a couple birds.
I walked around to the front of our house to see what it was and found this raptor perched at the top of my neighbour's house.
It had a bird in its claws and was tearing through it with its beak.
Time of picture: 7:29 pm.
Location: Kilrea Way in Brampton, Ontario, Canada.
Thank you so much, Basil, for sending us these great pictures - I'm sure our readers will enjoy them as much as I did ... and perhaps one of them will be able to identify this raptor for you.
