Belted Kingfishers

I found a pair of mating Belted Kingfishers at a pond near me.

They are very smart and I'm having a hard time getting a good picture of them.

They see me coming and go to the other side of the pond.

If I walk around to that side, they fly back to the first side of the pond.

Each time I have gone, they have mated.

Such beautiful birds and they are very vocal (and loud) with a chatter like call.
