A pack of eight

Two weeks ago, I saw eight coyotes near Moose Creek, Ontario (about 70 km east of Ottawa).

They ran across the road in front of my car and into an open field, where they stopped and watched me as I watched them.

The day before, I had seen a single Coyote in that field, and this morning I saw another single Coyote on the opposite side of the road.

I've seen Coyotes many times in the past -- but usually just a single Coyote or sometimes a pair.

Perhaps there was a female in heat and every male Coyote in the area was on her trail?
